Do you respect your peer reviewers?

As an author it is easy to pass judgments on peer reviewers’ statements, but it is important to remember that peer reviewers are human beings, too! Moreover, peer reviewing is not a paid job; it is offered as a free service. Respect the peer reviewer’s effort and time. Work diligently on all their recommendations. Be polite when you respond to their suggestions, even when you are disagreeing with them.

Remember that even though you are an author today, someday, you might be a reviewer, too! Wouldn’t you expect a polite, comprehensive response from the authors whose paper you have spent time evaluating?
